Default Idea against stealing /scammers

k. about 2 weeks ago a Brohn's staff was stolen from me, he offert me 65k and he closed the trade window a few times and i wasnt realy paying atention coz it happens more often that someone has a full inventory. and then he offert me 65 gold and i didnt notice so thats how he stole it from me and it happens a lot.

the idea that i have is a extra money counter where the one who is selling something has to type the amount of money u agreed on before the sale can be excepted and gets canceld if the amounts are not the same. another thing that would be nice is if costumized weapons couldnt be traded.havent tryed if its possible but i know u could do it a few months ago coz a guildy got scammed that way.

anyway, sorry for my bad english if u dont understand the idea but i think it would be a nice adition to make it harder to let someone scam u.

They fixed it so that it warns you if you are buying a customized item.

you just need to watch out for that kinda of stuff. a while ago i got scamed he showed my a 15^50 choas axe and a crappy weapon i siad i wanted the choas axe and he canceld and then put a 15 below 50% choas axe in. had then same mods and everything and i didnt notice the 15 below 50.

You just need to watch out for that stuff.. i learned my lesson.

"Buyer beware" is the rule of thumb for the trade window. When someone closes and opens the trade window when it seems that the agreed upon terms were met it's a RED FLAG! If they switched something up, stop dealing with that person, period. Then let the world know that they're scammers - easy.

Erm.. Its common knowledge, the ability to not be scammed. It has nothing to do with Anet. Theres a verification system already, in other words be patient during scams, I kinda find it ridicilous anyone would let themself be scammed out of a Brohn's staff.

The current trading system is working just great, adding in extra steps would be useless imo. It just needs to be stressed that you have to be careful when trading, and pay attention.

imo, it's silly to cry for 'better trading system' because people don't look at what they are trading for. What prevents them to use the 'oops sorry hit cancel accidentally/i'll give you this as a little extra'-thing with the new features?

I reported the scammer for the heck of it, but I was like. common That's just stupidity... whatever...

Well, I'm happy to hear the guy selling his account got scammed, serves him right. SELLING ACCOUNTS IS A RULES VIOLATION!!!!

Personally, I report ANYONE selling accounts in-game. Don't forget that those selling accounts in-game could have stolen it from someone with a key-logger or used a cd-cracker. Not only that, every time someone sells an account, that's less money for Anet and puts the game one-step closer to pay-to-play.

Please, if you see anyone selling accounts, go to the offical GW site and report them!

I boggles my mind that people can accualy get scammed. its not a race to get the trade done as fast as possible. take the time to look at the items and the ammounts in trade. Scamming only works against morons so....dont be a moron and pay attention . Never once been scammed and ive been here since beta.

I saw my mate playing on runescape (i dont play it cos it sucks) and there was an extra window... you traded it then it would come up with a second window showing the offer in a different format and making it clearer what he had offered.
Maybe thatd help on GW

First off it is partly your own fault, second it is SOOO! low to scam in a game some people really need to get a life. But i do think that after you accept a trade it should come up with something like "Do you wish to trade the 10 plat for his 2 ecto" or something like that.

Caveat Emptor. There's a reason that "buyer beware" is in latin.

Honestly, although I like the idea of an extra confirmation screen, I usually just give stuff to guildies and friends. Forcing them to type in 0 just to get some freebie from me because some people don't pay attention 100% of the time isn't very practical. Sorry to hear about you getting scamed, but you said it yourself: You weren't paying attention. It's not my problem, and I'd prefer not to get hassled for your mistake.

Just be more careful in the future, m'kay?

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS check the items after he changes BEFORE accepting unless of course your getting the item for free .

Plz do not do something stupid like this again.

Once again I'm going to make those 3 Magic Words

I don't feel sorry for those who get scammed.

If you don't pay attention, it's your own fault for being greedy.

Naturally, I canceled. I pay attention to my trades.
